CAIRNS - DAY 4 OF 7

Green Island

We enjoyed snorkeling so much we decided to take a cruise to Green Island on the Big Cat Green Island Reef Cruise ship. We departed from Marlin Wharf at the Reef Fleet Terminal in Cairns.

Green Island is a tropical cay just 45 minutes from Cairns. Situated in the Great Barrier Reef, the tropical rainforest island is surrounded by white sandy beaches and sapphire blue waters.

Snorkeling here was totally different from our first trip. The water was very shallow and we had to be extra careful while snorkeling not to touch or stand on the coral. I decided not to wear a life jacket and to use a "noodle" instead which really made snorkeling much easier for me. We saw some awesome fish, corals and Scott even saw a turtle that he said was so big he could have ridden on it! The weather was sunny and tropically warm and we had another memory making day!
