EASTER PARADE

Yesterday, Thursday, April 1, I went with Betty to the Cardiff Public School to have lunch with Juliet's niece and nephews and to watch their Easter parade. The children look forward to parading with the hats they (or their parents) made and perhaps winning a prize. You can see the huge smiles of the kids as they proudly parade, showing off their hats.

The school has a bell (1891-1991) placed in the courtyard which was restored by an ex-pupil to commemorate the 100-year celebration held on March 22, 1991. Juliet said she remembers when she attended that school how exciting it was to be chosen to ring the bell.

Today's celebration starts off the Easter break for the children. Today we are going over to Juliet's brother's home for dinner and to color eggs. The kids have never colored eggs before (that is not a tradition here) so we are all looking forward to it. Pictures to follow soon.

  1. Easter hat making by the kids is such a great idea. I loved seeing all the creations. I think I'll gather up some stuff so my grandkids can do that this weekend. Haven't had a chance to post lately but am still enjoying your trip adventures...keep em coming!
